Cool Stuff (you can use!)

I love finding products that are not only useful but cute! On this page, I’ll highlight companies and items that I love, or can recommend because they've been great for a client or in my own home. The companies on this page are ones that I personally purchase products from. If you see something you like, just click through to their website unless otherwise noted. Feel free to browse around at any of these websites too - the items I'm highlighting today are only a tiny portion of what most of them have to offer!

The Organized Parent

All sorts of great products for families - things that help make your life easier! Stephanie picks great items I love!

The Organized Parent
I love these little magnet hooks - I have several on my magnet boards. I use them to hang keys, macaroni necklaces so my daughter can see how much I adore them, name badges for events, and more. Use them with the great magnet strips on right (I've got these all over my house).
ScanDigital.com
Scan Digital takes your photos, videos, old home movies, slides, even your old photo album books and turns them into DVD's. Scan Digital has a 100% track record for the safety of your items and helps you preserve them. As an organizer, what I love about this is the assistance in de-cluttering - you can keep all your memories - they just don't have to take up so much space.
Organized A to Z.com

Organized A to Z is one of those go-to companies. You'll always find cool organizing products at great prices. The service is great - and you never know what you'll find at each new click!

Collectify

Whether storing receipts and warranties, tracking auction prices or emailing reports, Collectify offers the most comprehensive cataloguing software at the most affordable price. Now Collectify lends its expertise to household documentation with the revolutionary Collectify Home Inventory.

This is an awesome product - easy to use - and a great way to keep track of your valuables in case of an emergency. It's a do-it-yourself program . . . and at only $49.95, a very smart investment.

Amazon is amazing. I find everything I need there from organizing to storage to books. Many of my clients ask me about my favorite label maker and where to get a good deal on it. Well, here it is:

Like lists? Me too! Jen at List PlanIt has the best lists I've ever seen - you can access thousands of them - saving you bunches of time because she's done the work for you!

The Organized ParentI love this portable Neat Receipts Mobile Scanner. I've been using mine for years.

It scans & organizes receipts and documents, as well as converts them to PDF. Fave item on my desk besides my cat!

The Organized Parent

The Securita Vital Records PortaVault is an easy-to-use, comprehensive, intuitive system that IDENTIFIES, ORGANIZES, STORES and TRANSPORTS all of the important records and documents commonly found in a home.

This binder is water resistant, portable, lockable and can help you re-create your life in case of an emergency. I have one - and you should too. You will thank yourself later. I use mine in conjunction with the Collectify Home Inventory program noted above.

$69.95

Love to read about organizing? Me too! But the best way to avoid clutter with lots of books (and have handy reference wherever you are) is using a Kindle. I can’t even tell how many kinds of awesome these are – get one now – especially at their new price – it’s a great deal!

Product Review Archives

March 1, 2007… I would like to express my sincerest thanks for the thoughts and prayers from my friends, family, clients and business acquaintances during my recent, and successful, battle with thyroid cancer. Many have asked how I knew I had it. Well, I didn’t, but I knew something wasn’t quite right when I kept feeling an odd pressure in my throat. So, I offer my greatest gratitude to Dory Turney at Dr. Frank Caprio’s office with Heritage Medical Associates for hounding me to get in for an ultrasound, which resulted in finding nodules on my thyroid. Special thanks also to Dr. Rekha Pandula, my endocrinologist, and Dr. Kathleen Crews Williams, my surgeon. My recent scan, after my radiation therapy, showed that the cancer should be eradicated from any thyroid cells and lymph nodes. Now, it’s a matter of regaining my strength and stamina. The hardest part for me has been accepting the help and support of others, which is difficult for someone like me. I just want these people to know how much they are appreciated, and how much they helped me get through this. And for anyone who doesn’t feel quite right… please have it checked out, even if you are the one who is always taking care of everyone else—take care of yourself first!
